LIVE MUSIC COMPANY
This is our page of hints and tips for acts and for clients alike. We start with what makes a good wedding band. We've racked our brains in the office and shared our collective professional experience of many years, and come up with an ideal wish list. This starts with:
10 THINGS A GOOD WEDDING BAND SHOULD DO
1) Learn the Wedding Dance requested by the Bride and Groom
2) Set Up and Soundcheck at the Venue before the Bride and Groom's arrival (where space permits)
3) Be flexible with set lengths and set times as every wedding is unique.
4) Have a varied repertoire (60's to contemporary) and be able to judge what each wedding audience will respond to.
5) Judge the volume level that is appropriate for each wedding - and be prepared to turn down if required!
6) Be smartly dressed.
7) Be self contained with PA and lights.
8) Have music to play through their system during any breaks.
9) Avoid the wedding cliches... Lady in Red, Tie a Yellow Ribbon, The Birdy Song, Theme from Titanic!
10) ...rock!
We are also on a quest to find the country's favourite - and most bizarre - wedding dance songs. Please let us know what yours are! We will shortly have a voting form and want everyone to take part in the poll!
